After successful results from its Smart store concept in Al Ain Mall, Etisalat has announced that it will open 20 more such outlets across the U.A.E..
The Etisalat Smart store was initially opened in Al Ain earlier this year, and has thus far been a major success, the telecommunications company says. It claims waiting times have been reduced by 70 per cent and there has been a 200 per cent jump in customers served.
The Smart store aims to make the experience quicker and more interactive for the consumer.
Among the new interactive features people will be able to access at the store include interactive screens that allow the consumer to find out all relevant information about products, as well as being able to log into their accounts from the screens. The Smart store also features an area where customers will be able to use tablets to roam and access the internet on free WiFi while waiting to be attended by a customer representative. Customers will be able to watch television and a channel of their choosing on the eLife programme while waiting.
Etisalat reports a 400 per cent increase in eLife subscriptions at the Al Ain branch.
"This store is more engaging, so we make it nice to be here, people are coming to our store because they want to, not because they have to. We see families coming here, the dad might be buying a phone, so the wife will be sat in the elife corner watching the TV, and the kids will be straight over to the tablets section keeping them occupied while their parents do the transactions,” said Phillip Mckinnon, Vice President-Retail Development.
