robots have become a global phenomenon.
Jeddah - Arab Today

The expansion of the robots manufacturing industry has begun and so has the reliance on artificial intelligence, which means that there will be a quantum leap in investment in the field of robots. These developments of the robotics technology will shape the next industrial revolution.
Robots have increased the ability of surgeons to perform operations that are difficult, such as open-heart surgery, rectal and prostrate surgeries, as well as throat cancer surgery. The market for surgical robots worldwide is estimated at $11.4 billion, with an expected increase of 22.2 percent by 2020.
The robotics industry has grown at an annual rate of 17 percent, and the global market is expected to reach $188 billion by 2020.
The use of robots has entered many areas, such as industrial production, military purposes, recreation and tourism, housework and child care.
Robots can perform tasks based on the decisions they make, thus enhancing efficiency and strengthening the relationship between human and machine. Today, the robot can do many household functions such as running the air conditioner or changing the speed of circulation of the dryer once verbal commands are issued, by linking to various smart home appliances.
Robots are no longer just data-packed machines. They are designed to interact with the user’s body language.
A number of companies have entered the field of robotics technology.
LG Electronics has taken the lead with the “Airport Guide Robot.” It acts as a smart assistant to travelers that answers their questions in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages.
The latest robot provides detailed flight information, such as the arrival time of the plane and the boarding gate, simply by scanning the passenger’s ticket; it also provides information about the weather in the city to which he or she will travel. The robot helps guide travelers to the places they want to go to inside the airport, informing them how far and how long they will need to walk. The robot can also accompany travelers who are stranded or late to reach their boarding gates.
