The 14th session of His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah's Informatics Award has been launched, featuring newly-introduced activities and workshops that envisage further development for the sector.
Bassam Al-Shemmari, member of the Award's Supreme Committee, speaking at a news conference late on Tuesday, said "the award is making strides in the third phase of its march, launched in 2011." The Award has been presenting developed performance, year after year, currently reaching an aloft status on the international informatics map, he said, affirming that it encouraged and granted opportunities to Arab innovators.
He expressed gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for patronizing the Award regular courses and his personal attendance of honoring gatherings for winners. Moreover, he thanked His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali, the Chief of the National Guards, founder and patron of the Award.
The Award launching of the prize, "Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Platform for Humanitarian Action," several days ago, marked the Award's inauguration of its 14th year.
Axes of the 14th session include "the informatics diwan" and "the dialogue assembly." In line with the new approach, websites will be awarded on the basis of the audience magnitude.
The award will be granted to five electronic sites and five smart applications, at a total value of USD 150,000, with USD 15,000 for each winner.
The Kuwaiti Award, which contributes to promoting Arab electronic websites and smart applications, has become lucrative for internet users in various corners of the globe.
