Anadolu Agency established its Research and Development (R&D) Department to cater for its technological needs. Anadolu Agency, delivering more news and visuals everyday to its members with its offices spread around the world, will cater for its technological needs via its R&D department to be established in Ankara's techno city. Yakup Sivka, IT Director of Anadolu Agency, said that as Anadolu Agency continued to expand and it was getting harder to work with external companies they decided to establish their own R&D department. Stating that Anadolu Agency had come to the position of not only using technology but also producing it, Sivka stated that the team of five people would only work on devising projects and implementing them for the agency. "We can sell the software we produce to agencies in foreign countries and hence can create a new source of income for Anadolu Agency," Sivka added. Sivka also mentioned that they had begun to work on the project to benefit from EU's grant and support programs.
