Apple, which has already provided a number of fixes and upgrades for its error-prone Maps software, says "more improvements" will come this year. When first introduced last years, the Apple Map app garnered a barrage of criticism for misplaced landmarks, distorted satellite images of landscapes, and for getting users hopelessly lost. "We've made a number of improvements to Maps," Apple head Tim Cook told Wall Street analysts during the company's first-quarter earnings call Wednesday. Some of those include improved satellite and flyover imagery as well as local information for businesses, he said. Cook publicly apologized for the software's bugs and glitches last September, roughly a week after it was released to consumers as part of Apple's iOS 6 operating system, saying "we are extremely sorry for the frustration" it caused. In addition to fixes already in place, Apple has said it would "roll out more improvements during the rest of the year," CNET reported.
