Bahrain is to host the second Arab Information and Communication Technology Forum (Arab ICT Forum 2012) on the 1st of October. The two-day forum is organized by the ICT committee of the Federation of Arab Engineers (FAE) and the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE). Arab ICT 2012 seeks to establish an enduring interaction and cooperation between the local and regional ICT leaders and professionals and to engage in discussions related to the latest global development in the ICT sector that is affecting policy makers and stakeholders and hence make it a powerful opportunity for learning. The forum will cover a variety of topics including: Global trends in the development of ICT services and applications, Challenges facing the Telecommunication industry and operators, latest developments of New technologies in the Arab Region, challenges opportunities of Cloud Computing and virtualization, latest Trends and Practices using ICT to deliver e-Government Services, Public and Private investment initiatives for ICT Development, role of ICT in the Development of Education, Training and Scientific Research , contribution of the ITU in the development of ICT in the Arab Region, role of Information and Communications Technology to reduce the effects of natural and humanitarian disasters and the application of Green Technology in ICT hardware. ICT experts and represent telecommunication operators, ICT suppliers, major local companies, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), well known IT and Software companies will take part in the forum. The first Arab ICT Forum was held in Bahrain in November, 2010 and has attracted a significant number of ICT professionals from the public and private sectors in Bahrain representing Technical, Business, Audit, Information Security, Policy, Regulation, Customer Services, Consultation, Strategic Business Development, Sales and Marketing areas of their organizations.
