The 11th specialised session in naval sciences, which is organised by the naval training wing, got underway today under the patronage of Coastguard Commander Commodore Ala’ a Abdullah Siyadi.
The programme is part of 2014 annual scheme to boost the competence of the participants and help them carry out the duties assigned with them while keeping abreast of development at the Interior Ministry, the Coastguard Commander pointed out.
He added that the session, in which 15 persons are taking part, includes an explanation of the law preventing collision at seas, sea maps, navigation equipment and sea safety. The session also includes practical training in first aid, fighting ship fire and rescue operations.
