Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs, Shaikh Fawaz Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received MP Abdul Rahman Rashid Bu-Mijeed at his office today. During the meeting, Shaikh Fawaz welcomed MP Bu-Mijeed and listened to the comments and complaints of the people of his constituency concerning the communication towers, where he stressed that the Ministry of State for Communications Affairs, with directives of HRH Prime Minister, and since its inception has been exerting great efforts to solve the problem of the communication towers. The ministry is keen on the comfort and service of the citizen and the resident on the good land of Bahrain. The minister pointed out that the ministry is exerting great efforts to solve such problem, where the respected Cabinet issued an edict to refer the terms of reference of the towers to the Ministry of Telecommunications Affairs, and based on assignment from the respected Cabinet, the ministry is preparing a study on the towers, and is about to refer it to the Cabinet. Meanwhile, Shaikh Fawaz pointed out the approval of the respected Cabinet on the establishment of General Directorate for the Radio Communications following Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs. Shaikh Fawaz highlighted that the Directorate would be concerned with urging to follow unified policies and procedures to establish and develop the Radio Communications networks, and provide the best practical practices to ensure the compliance with the levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields. This includes the positioning of the locations of the radio communications, designing and issuance of regulations, and requirements relating to the establishment and development of the towers, stations and the systems related to radio telecommunications networks, in addition to issuing licenses and monitoring towers and irregularities. Shaikh Fawaz asserted Ministry of Telecommunications Affairs’ keenness, full readiness and cooperation with the Council of Representatives and the proposals of the MPs for the benefit and interest of the citizens. Shaikh Fawaz also praised the good efforts exerted by MP Bu-Mijeed with his friends the MPs of the Council of Representatives to reinforce the democratic march in the Kingdom, wishing them all success for the service of homeland and the citizens. For his part, MP Abdul Rahman Bu-Mijeed expressed his thanks and gratitude for the Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs’ continuous and fruitful cooperation, and highly praised the minister’s efforts in solving the problem of random communications towers that everyone has become worried of. MP Bu-Mijeed thanked and appreciated the keenness of the minister and his contact with the MPs to solve the citizens problems, lauding his good contributions for the service of Kingdom of Bahrain and its kind people in all various fields. Bu-Mijeed also thanked the minister for the speedy response of the ministry of State for Telecommunications Affairs to implement the recommendation of the National Assembly which states (activating legal actions against anyone who illegally uses the means of social networking). He also thanked the minister for the same recommendation (which tightens penalties against anyone who uses these websites to promote false information to third parties seeking the insecurity and instability of the country). Bu-Mijeed also praised the national efforts of the minister in this regard.
