The first-ever online demonstration for peace from Beirut to the world has been launched upon an initiative aired by the UN Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC-Beirut). Addressing a ceremony to launch the demonstration, Margho al-Helw, the information official of the UNIC-Beirut, said the demonstration marks the International Peace Day, which falls on September 21. The demonstration, held under the theme "Tolerance for Peace", paves the way for people to express their views on peace and advocate tolerance for a safe future, he added. The main goal of the initiative as enshrined in the UN Charter is to save next generations from wars and to maintain international security and peace, he pointed out.
