Internationally-renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations, BenQ, has announced the launch of its’ first bridge-type digital camera series to the Middle East. The GH range features two new models, the GH600 and the GH700. Manish Bakshi, General Manager of BenQ for the Middle East and Africa, said: “Our new GH series is designed for photography enthusiasts who want to go beyond the features of a normal point-and-shoot camera. Combining the advantages of point-and-shoot cameras with DSLR-like imaging effects, the GH series boasts powerful new features that can deliver ultra sharp pictures. Possessing a compact and ergonomic body, both cameras offer an affordable solution that will set the benchmark for bridge- type digital cameras in the region.” Both cameras are equipped with 21x super zoom lens; 16-Megapixel CCD sensor; 25mm wide-angle lens; O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer) system; a 3” 460K LCD display and a wide selection of shooting modes. The GH600 camera offers users a sophisticated photography experience with added creativity. The 21x Super Zoom lens provides a broad focal range from 25mm wide angle to 525mm telephoto (equivalent on a 35mm camera). The O.I.S system compensates for inadvertent camera shake and has a high light sensitivity of up to ISO6400. The camera also features HDR image enhancement technology which automatically adjusts luminance and contrast under the highest contrast lighting conditions. The GH700 camera boasts three cutting-edge features: high performance optical zoom lens, BSI CMOS sensor and a high-speed digital signal processor (DSP). With its high performance optical zoom lens, the GH700 combines high quality material and innovative technology to provide revolutionary images. The aspherical lens adopted to enhance the lens’ focus is made of high – transmission, low – dispersion materials and features a nano – scale, anti – reflection coating. The back – illuminated BSI CMOS sensor increases sensitivity and minimizes the noise level by up to 50%, delivering stunning results in low – light situations. Aspiring videographers can use the GH600 to shoot brilliantly crisp HD 720p videos at 30 frames per second; while with the GH700 they can capture special moments at 60 frames per second in 1080p Full HD resolution. An interdependent recording button on both cameras provides quick access to start recording. All three cameras are in-built with fun shooting modes - the LOMO, FISHEYE, COLOR ACCENT, PANORAMA, Web Auction, Speedy Burst, Beauty Enhancer and the Advanced Smart Scene Mode modes. Designed with a luminous golden ring around the lens to symbolize BenQ’s passion for photography excellence, the BenQ GH600 digital camera is priced at AED 699 and comes in black and white; and the BenQ GH700 is priced at AED 899. Both will soon be available at selected retail outlets in the Middle East.
