China will be a major participant in an innovation forum due in Moscow next month, as the two sides are likely to sign a slew of contracts, a senior Russian official said here Tuesday.
"That partnership proves the strategic nature of our cooperation, from traditional spheres like energy to new ones like high technology," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told a press conference.
He said a number of contracts and agreements between the two countries were hopeful during the Open Innovations forum scheduled for Oct. 14-16.
Dvorkovich also thanked China for its consistent support "in the current uneasy geopolitical situation."
"We see our friends and partners not yield to Western pressure and we continue active interaction," the Interfax news agency quoted him as saying.
In 2013, more than 4,500 participants from 47 countries and regions took part in the forum dedicated to emerging technologies and furthering innovation prospects and collaboration worldwide.
