Etisalat announced on Saturday a new data iPhone 4S plan for its postpaid customers, offering the new device without any upfront payment. "Etisalat's new 1GB data plan makes it more affordable for customers to step up to data on the country's fastest network. Customers can surf the web, download apps, share photos or watch videos on their new iPhone devices for a monthly rental as low as Dh200," the company said in a statement. It added: "Etisalat has also introduced iPhone business plans featuring flexible options and incredible value. "The new plans are in addition to the existing iPhone 4S plans and will be available to individual and corporate customers starting today." "The incredible value comes from the combination of etisalat's fastest nationwide network, an exceptional iPhone 4S device at no upfront payment and affordable price point." New and existing customers can get their new iPhone 4S device on an 18-month agreement for the new data plan and on a 24-month agreement for the corporate plan. Upgrades Customers can subscribe to an iPhone 4S plan of their choice and receive their devices from any etisalat business centre or outlet in the UAE. Furthermore, customers can easily upgrade to any iPhone 4S plan of their choice as and when required. Last year, etisalat's then acting CEO Nasser Bin Obood said the company would make a capital investment of up to Dh15 billion over the next five years to expand its infrastructure, which will include investments in information technology and laying cables. "Over the next five years we plan to spend Dh2 billion to Dh3 billion each year on improving 2G and 3G and [ushering in] 4G, as well as on cables and IT," Bin Obood said at the time. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, etisalat is the largest telecommunications operator in the Middle East and Africa with a market value in excess of Dh80 billion. Etisalat operates in 18 countries across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, with a coverage area of more than two billion people.
