Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hailed the country's scientific and technological progress, and said the Iranian nation can make progress in every field and arena. "We should trust our local talents in the country and produce as many equipment as we can inside the country," Ahmadinejad said, addressing the third Communications and Information Technology Festival in Tehran on Saturday. He underlined Iran's astonishing progress in different scientific and technological fields, and said, "The Iranian nation has been the flag-bearer of knowledge and industry in the world for thousands of years and experience has shown that the Iranian nation has had a jump in progress in every arena that it has entered." Ahmadinejad underlined Iran's achievements in different fields, including nuclear, aerospace, nanotechnology and biotechnology, and said when the Iranian nation can make progress in these areas which are considered as the frontiers of knowledge, gaining achievement in other less important fields is not difficult at all. In relevant remarks in February, Ahmadinejad said Iran's scientific production has increased more than seven times during the last 7 years. "Iran achieves scientific productions, glory and success on a daily basis and the country's scientific production has grown 7 times during the last 7 years," Ahmadinejad said, addressing a ceremony to honor Iran's academic elites in Tehran at the time.
