Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and Indian Ambassador Sunil Jain discussed, on Monday, cooperation in the fields of petroleum, food science and renewable energy.
Director of KISR Dr. Naji Al-Mutairi said in a press statement that the KISR and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding back in November to boost cooperation in mutual fields of interest as well as exchanging expertise.
Al-Mutairi pointed out that KISR has put together a strategy for the next six years to delve into new fields of science.
Recently, KISR has organized a workshop with CSIR to establish cooperation on marine science and oceanography, a branch of earth science that studies the ocean.
On his part, the Indian envoy said that the two countries strive to set up joint projects especially in the energy and petroleum domains.
He lauded KISR for utilizing young manpower to build a better future for their country. He also commended the institution for seeking cooperation with various science organizations across the globe.
