Finnish phone maker Nokia has unveiled its HERE mapping service as a competitor to Google Maps and Microsoft's Bing maps. Although for the most part just a rebranded version of its current mapping app, HERE includes more features, improved maps and 3D views, CNET reported Tuesday. Nokia recently acquired 3D mapping company earthmine to bring advanced 3D imagery to HERE to go head-to-head with Google's Street View service. The company has launched an iOS app of its HERE Maps and said it plans an app for Android in early 2013. Internet users can experience a preview of the new service through a HERE.net website Nokia has launched.
