S. Korea firms to build thermal power plant in Turkey

Two South Korean companies have signed a memorandum of understanding to build a large coal-fired thermal power plant in southern Turkey, industry sources said Wednesday. Sources said Korea Namdong Electrics, an affiliate of state-run Korea Electric Power Corp., and SK Engineering & Construction Co. signed a US$697 million pact earlier in the month to build a power plant in the Tufanbeyli region about 350 kilometers southeast of Ankara.
