Mobile Communications, formerly Sony Ericsson expects to see an increase in sales through its Android-based Xperia smartphone in the Middle East region. According to the company officials, Mobile Communications will continue to invest in the smartphones market in the region during the year. The Xperia S smartphone was officially unveiled and launched at a colourful ceremony in Dubai on Monday, the first launch in the Middle East. The Middle East launch follows a successful global debut at International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 and Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012. The event offered a demonstration of the feature-rich smartphone highlighting key functionalities such as the ‘connected entertainment experience’. Offering seamless connectivity between all devices whether smartphone, TV, laptop or tablet and PlayStation, it is ideal for consumers looking to share and enjoy content. Speaking at the press conference Rüdiger Odenbach, Vice-President, Sony Mobile Communications, Middle East and Africa, said: “Xperia S is the first device to be launched by Sony Mobile Communications, and we are confident that it will be very well received.
