First 250 people pre-ordering the Xperia S will receive a SmartWatch, as the mobile comes second to the iPhone 4S in the number of people to pre-register their interest in a device at the retailer Phones 4U is giving away a free Sony SmartWatch worth £99 to each of the first 250 people that pre-order their interest in the Sony Xperia S. Like the Xperia S, the SmartWatch was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month and will be available to buy from Phones 4U from early March. The product connects to a user’s Android smartphone and enables them to check Facebook posts, tweets, texts and emails, as well as being able to see who’s calling. It has a 1.3 inch OLED scratch and splash-proof touchscreen and also acts as a media player, streaming audio from the phone, to the device and then to the headphones. The Xperia S will be available from March 9, available for free from £31 a month. Phones 4U chief commercial officer Scott Hooton said: “A vast number of people have, and continue to, pre-register their interest and excitement in the Xperia S from Sony on our website. As a result, Sony’s new flagship smartphone is now the second most pre-registered device at Phones 4u ever. “We wanted to give our customers something extra to look forward to that will enhance their experience of Sony’s new Android smartphone, and this is why we’re giving the first 250 pre-orders a free Sony SmartWatch.” From: mobilenews
