A new regional conference devoted to exploring the entire sulphur value chain and the growing role of the Middle East as the world’s largest producer of sulphur, will be hosted in Abu Dhabi from 12th to 16th November, organisers announced today.
The conference is being sponsored by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, and is aligned with the UAE Government’s vision to create new value for sulphur to support the continued diversification of the nation into a thriving knowledge based-economy.
Top experts and leading professionals in the field of sulphur across both commercial and technical divisions will attend the CRU’s Middle East Sulphur Conference, to be held from February 12 to 16, at the Jumeriah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, said CRU Events, a subsidiary of the business intelligence company - CRU Group, that focuses on the global metals, mining and fertiliser industries, which will host the event.
Attendees are expected to include suppliers, producers, researchers and academics, operators and technical staff and technology providers as well as professionals working in related industries including logistics, distribution, engineering and also specialised media outlets.
The key objectives of the inaugural conference are to promote peer-to-peer knowledge transfer, encourage collaboration to solve shared operational challenges and provide high-level networking opportunities, CRU Events said in a press release.
The event will feature a selection of presentations, workshops, training and roundtable discussions. The commercial and technical programmes will feature world-leading industry experts who will also be on hand to share their experiences and insights on market dynamics, technical developments, current trends; and supply and demand forecasts. Attendees will also be able to visit a world-class exhibition showcasing the most innovative technologies used in the industry.
"This is a pivotal time for the sulphur industry and we expect the Middle East and particularly Abu Dhabi to continue to see supply growth throughout the next year with the region becoming an increasingly important origin for sulphur supply," Nicola Coslett, CEO of CRU Events "The conference will bring together a number of important stakeholders for lively discussions to ensure that the industry continues to grow and improve with the UAE at its core," she added.
