Tunisian prime minister praised Iran's scientific achievements and its powerful international position, adding that cooperation between Tehran and Tunis in all fields, including the transfer of science is very important for the progress of his country. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Tunis. This is the first time a ranking Iranian official is visiting Tunisia after the victory of revolution in that country. The visit serves as a turning point in ties between the two countries. Iranian officials have always underlined their enthusiasm for the expansion of all-out ties with Tunisia. In a latest case in February, Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a meeting with Tunisian Ambassador to Tehran Mohammad al-Hasayeri underlined Tehran's preparedness to share its experiences with Tunisia in all arenas. During the meeting, Rahimi also reiterated that there is no obstacle in the way of expansion of bilateral relations between Iran and Tunisia. He then referred to Tunisia as an important country in the world of Islam whose nation plays active role in the Islamic Awakening process.
