Istanbul - Arabstoday

Turkey's military electronics company ASELSAN has come first at the 2012 Technology Leadership Awards, considered the Oscars of the electronic design. Turkish engineers won the first place under the military and aerospace category with their "compact screening module card" which is used in thermal cameras. ASELSAN deputy director general Ozcan Kahramangil told AA correspondent on Thursday that Turkey won its first top award in the organization which is one of the prestigious contest of the field. He said Turkish team got the first place in the toughest category of the awards; military and aerospace, coming out among the most important companies of the US, Italy, Israel and Japan. Kahramangil said the award winning card was at the cutting edge of the electronic card design technology. Turkish design team was composed of Sefika Ozkal Piroglu, Murat Karadeniz, Inanc Dogru, Hakan Cimen, Serkan Ozyurek and Halil Ibrahim Yaslak. Started in 1988, Technology Leadership Awards is the longest running competition of its kind in the electronic design automation industry. It recognizes engineers and computer aided design designers who use innovative methods and design tools to address today's complex printed circuit board systems design challenges and produce industry-leading products.
