London - Arabstoday

Cloud storage seems to become quite a big deal these days and apparently everybody wants to have a piece of the business. Microsoft included. The company already released a cloud storage under its mighty banner who bears the name SkyDrive, but now it wants to take things to the next level. Information provided by Building Windows 8 blog has it that Microsoft wants to build in tight links from its upcoming Windows 8 client to the SkyDrive cloud storage. What does mean, you might ask. Well first off, it would facilitate users who use Windows 8 on their tablets, PCs or smartphones to store their digital content on SkyDrive fast and reliable. On the same blog, Mike Torres and Omar Shahine, group program manager for SkyDrive commented that, in Windows 8, SkyDrive and the Mesh file sync technology will unite into a singular service. How will that be achieved? Well, by integrating SkyDrive into an application in Windows 8. Thus the files will be accessible for editing from the desktop, using Windows Explorer. Like that, users can get a hold of their files directly from their hard drives. “This will bring a file cloud to every Metro style app, allowing you to open files in your SkyDrive and save them right back to your SkyDrive just like you would on your local hard drive,” the post reads”, seems to think the team. To do your remote accessing business, you will be required to enter an authentication element – a special code that Microsoft will be sending from an alternate email address on your mobile phone.
