Daumnet soars 23% on ads, games

Daum Communications Corp., the operator of South Korea's second-most visited portal, said Friday its third-quarter net income surged 23 percent on an increase in its display advertising and game services. Net profit came to 23.6 billion won (US$22.2 million) in the July-September period, compared with 19.2 billion won a year earlier, Daum said in a regulatory filing.
