The Iranian computer game “Mountaineer”, the best computer game at the First Tehran Computer Game Festival, was unveiled during a ceremony here on Sunday. Attended by the officials in charge of the game at the Baqerololum Research Center in Tehran, “Mountaineer” will be released within the next coming week. “We have previously produced and distributed several computer games and I think if we mix good technique with good text, the product will turn out to be a good thing,” distributor Mahyar Asgharpur said at the ceremony. Managing director of Iran Electronic Publications Mohammad-Ali Khatibi, publisher of the game and also present at the ceremony, said that Tebyan Institute has been the major investor in the game. “We see that computer games are of significant importance as sales of the games have never faced a decline anywhere in the world,” Khatibi said. On distributing the game in other countries, Khatibi added, “our Iranian citizens residing in foreign countries desire to play an Iranian game, so we hope we can improve our arrangements for distributing the game in other countries.” The game has been designed for young adults above 12, director of the designers Farhud Farmand said, adding, “A team of 10 worked on the project for three years and we hope to get good results.” “Mountaineer” tells the story of an adventurous man who attends mountain climbing competitions to get his paramedic license where has to go through 10 difficult stages to pass. The game, not similar to any foreign game, is straightforward and smooth, and can easily be played for hours
