Jerusalem - Upi

An Israeli programmer said he created Faceglat, a "kosher" version of Facebook, offers a "cleaner version" of the social networking site with Jewish values. Yaakov Swisa, 25, said Faceglat -- which gets its name from Facebook and the word glatt, which denotes the highest level of kosher for a piece of meat -- separates the profiles of men and women so personal photos and information can be hidden from members of the opposite sex, the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported Tuesday. Swisa said the site also blocks indecent advertisements and has a policy of blocking users who violate the site's decency rules. "People who are God-fearing and care about their children's education cannot tolerate the adverts and pictures one sees on the regular Facebook," Swisa told Ynetnews.com. "I personally know people who have deteriorated spiritually because of all kinds of things they were introduced to there."
