South Korea's top central banker will attend the 66th annual joint general assembly of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Washington, slated for this week, the central bank said Tuesday. The Bank of Korea (BOK) governor Kim Choong-soo will join the gathering scheduled for Friday and take part in a series of bilateral talks with key members of the international financial market. Talks are expected to be centered on current global economic issues, the BOK said in a statement. Kim is also scheduled to appear at Group of 20 summit of finance ministers and central bankers on Thursday, to discuss policy cooperation between member countries. He will take part in another central bankers' meeting with emerging market leaders in Asia and Latin America on Sept. 21, the BOK said.
