The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) denied reports on new designs of banknotes from one pound to 200 pounds, stressing that banknotes at the markets are valid.
In a statement released by the CBE, it dismissed reports circulated on social media and some newspapers about a voluntarily competition to create new designs for Egyptian banknotes, saying that such reports are groundless and bare of truth.
