The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued new conditions easing the access of low-income people to mortgages.
The new conditions apply only for new mortgages, not the existing ones, and give the banks three months to readjust, CBE said Sunday in a statement.
They also target self-employed workers, it added.
The maximum limit for mortgage will be 85 percent of the residential unit price.
