CBE source denies banning use of debit cards abroad
Cairo - MENA
An official source at the Central Bank of Egypt denied on Wednesday that it had given orders to banks in Egypt to ban clients from using their Egyptian pound account debit cards abroad.
But at the same time, he told MENA that banks have set limits on foreign currency withdrawals abroad from accounts in the Egyptian pound.
Debit cards for accounts in foreign currency can still be used abroad up without limits, the source added.
