The Central Bank of Jordan CBJ announced that the volume of excess reserves on Thursday is JD 1.436 million, including the overnight window deposits . The volume of required reserves, is JD 1.150 million. CBJ excess reserves come from the surplus funds of banks needed to finance their operations, where the central bank pays 2 percent annual interest limited to commercial banks, while Islamic banks are not included, CBJ added. The CBJ said that the overnight repurchase agreements which were held with the bank yesterday reached JD4.5 million.
