Underscoring its support for the Sultanate’s government sector, National Bank of Oman

 Underscoring its support for the Sultanate’s government sector, National Bank of Oman (NBO) has formed a public-private partnership with Oman Automobile Association (OAA) to promote road safety, encourage tourism and support local talent across the country.

The OAA is a partly-owned government entity and the first and only body in Oman that governs and organises motorsports activities. By hosting road safety training and workshops, as well as introducing new entertainment to the market such as karting competitions, rally championships, 4x4 challenges and drifting challenges. The association also encourages safe driving practices, attracts tourists, and fosters the next generation of the Sultanate’s motorsports enthusiasts. 

Hassan Abdul Amir Shaban, Chief Government Banking Officer for NBO, said: “National Bank of Oman is delighted to team up with Oman Automobile Association to drive the government’s diversification agenda forwards. The need for collaboration across the public and private sectors has never been more important, and with this partnership we hope to set a precedent for more organizations to pool their talent and resources together for the benefit of the Sultanate. NBO remains committed to supporting the key pillars of the economy, and we look forward to building a strong and fruitful relationship with OAA over the coming months and years.”

Suleiman Al Rawahi, Managing Director for OAA, said: “Oman Automobile Association is very pleased to collaborate with the National Bank of Oman to enrich the development of motorsports in Oman and the region. Road safety is the highest priorityat the Oman Automobile Association. And being a part of this community, developing young talents is a big part of our agenda. Together with NBO, we’re keen on exceeding our objectives of creating a safe driving culture, and providing the necessary resources for the young to develop their talents so that they can compete on the international stage. We look forward to working closely with NBO.”

National Bank of Oman is committed to supporting the wider community by forming partnerships with the government sector through multiple platforms and initiatives. Recently, the National Bank of Oman has signed an agreement with the Information Technology Authority to provide custom solutions.
