The Union of Arab Banks (UAB) announced it would delay its annual conference expected to be held in Lebanon. The conference is sponsored by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and was delayed due to organisation issues, sources said. The conference was delayed from November 8 and 9 to November 16 and 17. The conference this year is entitled "economic stability in the face of uncertainty". It will include ministers, central banks governors, and banking and financial association leaders. The conference will discuss the role of politics in achieving economic stability, reforming factors in the Arab world, responses to economic challenges, and social responsibility programs in the banking sector. Secretary General of UAB Wissam Hassan Fattouh said "holding the conference in Lebanon is a strategic choice for the union, due to its political and financial position and the role of the Lebanese banking sector in supporting Arab economy.”
