The construction of the 542-km gas pipeline from Mtwara to Dar es Salaam has reached 50 percent of its onshore section, and 85 percent of its seabed section on March 30. The construction of the project is being undertaken with a loan of 1.225 billion U.S. dollars from the Export-Import Bank of China. Constructed by the China National Petroleum Corporation, the project is expected to be completed in June, 2015.
