ENOC to host 22nd annual Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference in Dubai

Under the patronage of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is hosting the 22nd annual Middle East Petroleum '&' Gas Conference (MPGC), at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City from April 13 to 15. The conference will be inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, President of the Department of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Group. ENOC is hosting the conference for the ninth year, and this year, the conference is convening under the theme 'New Horizons or Old Truths: Middle East Energy Markets in Transition.' ENOC is also hosting the 3rd Annual Base Oil '&' Lubes Middle East (BLM 2014), which discusses 'New capacity and impact on global demand and supply dynamics,' and the Middle East Jet Fuels Conference. Both events will be held as part of the Middle East Petroleum '&' Gas Week from April 12 to 17. Other conferences to be held during the week include the 21st annual Middle East Petroleum Insiders Briefing, Production Sharing Contracts '&' International Petroleum Fiscal Systems and the 8th annual Middle East Gas Insiders Briefing. Saeed Khoory, CEO of ENOC and Co-Chair of MPGC, said: "The Middle East Petroleum '&' Gas Week is the most comprehensive industry event that discusses the newest trends, challenges and opportunities for diverse stakeholders across the industry supply chain. We are honoured to host MPGC, the flagship conference, as well as BLM 2014 and the Middle East Jet Fuels Conference, underlining our strong commitment to partner with industry events that promote knowledge sharing and industry networking." This year, we have the largest edition of the MPGC to date, highlighting the strong interest of all stakeholders to engage in positive dialogue on the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry." At MPGC, ENOC will highlight the significant shift in the region's oil and gas industry towards promoting energy efficiency and exploring a diversified energy mix, with a focus on renewables. ENOC has been an industry leader in adopting global best practices and sustainability initiatives and is credited with opening the Middle East's first green service station. "Our strategies are aligned with the ?Green Economy for Sustainable Development' initiative unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and contribute to achieving the goals of the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030 to reduce energy demand by 30 per cent," added Mr. Khoory Green initiatives by ENOC include the focus of Emirates Gas (EMGAS), its subsidiary, to promote Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a cleaner and greener fuel in Dubai. CNG is set to become the UAE's preferred alternative fuel of choice for government vehicles and ENOC is working with the Roads '&' Transport Authority to introduce CNG in public transport.
