NIGC's director for coordination and supervision Mehdi Jamshid-Dana made the above remarks in a conference held in the Northeastern city of Mashhad named 'Sustainable Gas' and hosted by Hashemi Nejad Gas Refining Company, Shana reported. He said the bulk of the additional volume came from upgrading Bid-Boland, Fajre-Jam and Hashemi Nejad gas processing plants, adding that the country's gas processing capacity has risen to 520 million cubic meters per day now. Referring to gas extraction from South Pars gas field as the top priority for gas industry, Jamshid-Dana said last year gas processing capacity increased by 2 billion cubic meters compared with a year earlier reaching a total 156 billion cubic meters. On overhaul operations in gas processing plants, the official said "the matter is one of our priories", and stated that last year overhaul time shortened by 10 percent in comparison to a year earlier. "We will try to cut overhaul period by another 10 percent this year," the official noted. Jamshid-Dana also stated that overhaul operations had been started since the beginning of current Iranian calendar year (March 20), and will come to an end in October. Elsewhere in his remarks he said 300 thousand parts are being used in the gas industry of which 50 thousand items had been identified and 25 thousand items are being manufactured domestically.
