Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) said on Saturday that the price of Kuwait's crude oil increased USD 1.01 in Friday's trading to settle at USD 107.81 per barrel (pb) compared to USD 106.80 the day before. Crude prices rose in global markets yesterday due to fears of cutting off oil supplies after an attack that had taken place at an Algerian gas plant and concerns over Iran's nuclear program. The New York Mercantile Exchange, light sweet crude for delivery in February rose USD 0.07 to settle at USD 95.56 per barrel at closing; in addition, the North Sea Brent crude oil futures prices for February delivery also went up USD 0.79 to settle at USD 111.89 per barrel.
