Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Monday the government completed the power generation projects of 10,000 megawatt while reduction in rates of
electricity and gas was under consideration.
Addressing the PML-N workers here at the residence of
Khawaja Asif, he regretted that several attempts had been
made during the last four years to spread anarchy in the
country, however the government moved on undeterred and
only focused on completion of development work. He said
that different projects of National Highway amounting
Rs 150 billion were underway in Sialkot district.
In his welcome address, Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad
Asif said the PML-N government had focused special attention
on the promotion of education across the country. Many steps
had already been taken in this regard to facilitate the students,
he said.
The Foreign Minister revealed that Prime Minister would
soon perform stone laying ceremonies of NUST and Bahria universities
in Sialkot, adding that Punjab Chief Minister would soon transfer
65 acres land for the construction of the universities campuses.
The Prime Minister had already provided funds amounting
Rs 400 million for the up-gradtion of city roads while funds
would soon be provided to Sialkot Municipal Corporation enabling
it improvement of sanitation system of Sialkot, he disclosed.
Khawaja Asif said that Prime Minister had performed stone
laying ceremony of Sialkot-Kharian motorway and the project would
cost Rs 40 billion while development work on Sialkot-Lahore
motorway was in full swing.
The Minister further said that 10,700 MW electricity generated
due to effective policies and mechanism of the government.
