Two Syrian artistic works have been nominated for the 2011 Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature, among a 10-book list announced by the UAE Board on Books for Young People. The two books are "The Neglected Tips" by Zakaraiyya Tamer and "Zaman" by Fatin Ibrahim. The Award aims at honoring the Arabic children’s literary sector and focuses on delivering high-quality content for Arabic children, which contributes to building a cultured generation that understands their rights and duties in terms of contributing to national growth and prosperity. The 5-member judging panel is scheduled to hold intensive sessions in the coming few days to discuss the ten books in preparation to select five books to finally compete for the Award which values AED million (1 USD is equal to about 3.67 AED). The winning book will be announced on November 16, 2011 during the opening of al-Sharjah International Book Fair.
