"Algeria is a land of balance and respect for the right to be different," Algerian thinker Mustapha Cherif assessed Saturday, in Oran.
Hosting a conference after the prayer of "Tarawih", within the framework of the 9th meeting "Dourouss El Mouhamadia", Mustapha Cherif, university and former minister, considered that "Algeria has adopted the Maliki Fiqh as the main source, balanced between the authentic Sunnah and the respect of the right to difference."
"We are the middle because our values, our culture and our worldview is based on fair foundations of our religion and values of the message of the Prophet (PBUH)," he said in a speech entitled" the four founders and ijtihad."
"Unlike archaisms that undermine Muslim societies today, the four founding schools of Fiqh, never show up as a authority requiring or excluding, but as valid method everywhere in all time," said the speaker who advocated inter-religious dialogue in his writings, contributions and interventions.
This new "Dourouss El Mouhamadia" meetings organized by the Zawiya "Belkaïdia El Hebria", continue through a rich program conferences around the main theme of "The four Imams of Fiqh school", with the participation of scholars and clerics from many Arab countries. "
