A group of experts and archaeologists are working on a file about the most ancient sites in Alexandria to be able to register them in world heritage lists of the UNESCO.
The file will include pictures and maps of Alexandria's most ancient areas, such as the eastern port area, Kom el Dekka and Kom el Shoqafa, said Mohamed Metwali, the director general of Muslim and Coptic monuments in the Mediterranean city.
The UNESCO will send a panel to inspect the sites and choose which to include in the world heritage lists, Metwali noted.
