The Cairo Opera House has suspended all its activities scheduled during the three days of national mourning declared yesterday by Interim President Adly Mansour for "the martyrs of the nation." The suspension extends to all the venues operating under the Cairo Opera House management, such as the Alexandria Opera House, Damanhour Opera House and Al-Gomhouriya Theatre. All venues will resume their regular activities on Saturday 23 November. On Wednesday 20 November, Interim President Mansour announced nationwide mourning for all of the state's "martyrs," who include: the 11 soldiers killed Wednesday in North Sinai when a suicide bomber drove into their convoy, the 26 civilians who died Monday in Giza when a train ploughed into a truck and a minibus at a railway crossing, and the senior officer at Egypt's National Security Apparatus, Mohamed Mabrouk, who was assassinated on Sunday.
