A dinner banquet was held in Darebin-Melbourne honoring Information Minister Walid Daouk and Director of National News Agency Laure Sleiman Saab, currently on a visit to Australia to unveil the statue of the Lebanese immigrant. Mayor of Darebin, Diana Assmar, presented her two guests with honorary shields. In his turn, Minister Daouk gave Assmar NNA's Golden Jubilee Book. Daouk was pleased to meet Lebanese community in Australia. He stressed that the Lebanese immigrant has been in the country for over 150 years.
