Dr al-Hujailan inaugurates forum for specialists in libraries in Makkah

On behalf of the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Khudhairi, the Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information for Cultural Affairs Dr. Nasser bin Saleh Al-Hujailan inaugurated here yesterday evening the 3rd Forum for Specialists in Public Libraries organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information in the presence of (255 ) employees and specialists in libraries.
Dr. Al-Hujailan toured the permanent exhibition of the Public Library in Makkah and watched its contents.
On behalf of the Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Al-Hujailan delivered a speech in which he expressed his pleasure over the opening of the forum, pointing out that the selection of Makkah for holding the forum is due to its status and what it is witnessing nowadays from the influx of visitors and Umrah performers from around the world, in addition to the ministry's keenness to diversify holding the forum in the Kingdom to provide an opportunity for those in charge of public libraries to acquire expertise in organizing meetings, wishing participants in the forum every success.
He explained that public libraries are directed to the general public and concerned with academic books and general knowledge, revealing the ministry's interest to provide public libraries with specializing books because they are the vessels for all knowledge and the important source of information, pointing to the ministry's direction to register intangible heritage through visitors' mouths.
