Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is set to participate in the fourth edition of the Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE) 2016.
This year’s installment - scheduled to take place between April 11th and 13th of 2016 has a distinctly global focus with more than 40 government entities from 20 international countries taking part. The DIGAE 2016 affords international and local government institutions the opportunity to review governmental achievements in order to provide the best service practices to their respective countries. It also offers attendees the chance to explore, exchange experiences and networking opportunities, while also highlighting Dubai’s experience in the field of excellence.
Saeed Al Naboodah, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture, said: "Our participation in the forthcoming edition of the exhibition reinforces our commitment in achieving the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage the performance of excellence in all operations carried out by government institutions in the spirit of the Dubai Plan 2021.
Al Naboodah added: "We are utilizing the exhibition’s platform to showcase the innovative ways that we at Dubai Culture have embarked upon, through an exchange of experiences and knowledge with various local and international institutions and we also highlight the range of activities we have designed to enhance the feeling of happiness in the hearts of citizens, residents and visitors".
Dubai Culture will highlight its achievements and services in the respective spheres of the arts, culture and heritage and look to secure successful partnerships with other authorities and institutions at DIGAE 2016. Helping to achieve its vision of transforming Dubai into a platform for creativity, cultural exchange and diversity – both regionally and globally.
The achievements that Dubai Culture will be showcasing will include the ‘Creatopia’ (www.creatopia.ae) initiative, which was launched by Dubai Culture last year as the UAE’s first government empowered virtual community to guide and nurture the creative culture of the nation by providing a platform of information and opportunities leading to exposure and personal growth.
Smart technology solutions Dubai Culture implemented during the Dubai International Exhibition of Arabic Calligraphy will also be showcased. This technology was used to highlight calligraphy as an art form in itself that is not only limited to collectors and those interested in it, but also to the younger generation that can grow to enjoy it as well. Such technologies included touch screens that were utilized to provide information to visitors about the work on display, as well as special scanning procedures for mobiles phones and smart devices that allow them to obtain all of the necessary details related to the exhibits.
In addition, the authority will showcase the recently upgraded Dubai Culture’s smart mobile application with additional brand new functions including the Augmented Reality to allow effective integrations of Dubai's heritage sites. Using the authority’s digital platform, visitors and residents are able now to get their directions to different locations and notify them when they are in close proximity of any landmarks.
Users of Dubai Culture’s smart applications are also able now to intuitively utilize the camera in the smartphone to scan at the sites and bring to life the targets in a visualized and informative format of content.
Dubai Culture is committed to employ advanced technology to provide innovative services. This is clearly reflected through the launch the Dubai Culture’s application, which was recognized as the ‘best government service via mobile phone’ in the tourism sector category during the DIGAE’s second edition.
