Carolyn Morton, a British resident, has completed her sculpture of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, after undertaking the project last May. The figurine, which was commissioned by collectibles company Compton and Woodhouse, will be flown today to the UK where it will then be replicated by hand in fine bone china. The sculpture shows Catherine in her wedding dress and stands at approximately 26 centimetres. Morton explained that the final product will be available in the UK and US markets within the next three to four months. She noted that all her sculptures are made in clay, and once they are completed they are handed over to a foundry in Birmingham, UK, where they are cast in bronze or bone china. Making sculptures of royalty is not a new task for Morton as she has previously made bronze sculptures of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in addition to Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The artwork of Shaikh Mohammad consisted of sculpting a life size bust in wax, which was then finished in bronze and unveiled at Art Dubai 2010. From / Gulf News
