Egypt, Lebanon probe religious cooperation

Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam has said the visit of Lebanon’s Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian to Egypt gives a push to the bilateral religious cooperation.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Derian, Allam said they agreed to further boost cooperation in combating extremism ideology.
"We have agreed on the need to end the Fatwa (religious edicts) chaos," Allam added.
Derian, for his part, underscored the need to change the approach to the West by clarifying the true nature of Islam.
