Cairo - MENA

Ministry of Awqaf has warned all staff against the use of mosques or any establishments in campaigning for the parliamentary elections.

Such practices will be monitored and reported and those involved will be punished, the ministry said.

The ministry is keen on free and transparent elections to express the views of the voters, the ministry added in a statement.

Any imam at the ministry will be on vacation during his participation in the elections committees, the statement noted.

Also, any of the ministry staff will be relieved from his post once they run in the parliamentary elections.
