Egyptian awqaf takes control over 5 mosques

Awqaf Ministry decided Saturday to take control over five mosques which were affiliated to the religious association "Al Jamia Al Sharia".
Such step came in the context of the ministry's attempts to control the religious discourse nationwide, said a statement released by the ministry.
It added that if the association would not commit to the ministry's rules, the whole mosques of the association would be taken over by the ministry.
