The Cameri Theatre, one of Israel's leading theaters, will present its representative play "The Suitcase Packers" in Beijing from March 4 to 6. The play by Israeli playwright Hanoch Levin tells the stories of "nobodies." Punctuated by eight funerals, it shows the lives of five families, as well as the conflicts that arise between parents and their sons and daughters. According to the Beijing People's Art Theatre, where the play will be staged, "The Suitcase Packers" lends a sympathetic tone to the "dead" and "alive" narratives, instead of critically showing people's indifference. The show will be performed on a bare stage with no sets and only minimal props, leaving a lot of room for actors to perform. In addition, Israel's Gesher Theatre will bring "Don Juan" to the capital from March 8 to 10.
