Amman - FANA

Director General of Jordan Tourism Board Abdul Razak Arabiyat expressed Jordanian Ministry of Tourism’s willingness to cooperate with Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) in introducing antiquities and in archeological and tourist exchange by holding an exhibition in Doha on the Jordanian antiquities to introduce Qatari citizens as well as visitors to Qatar from the GCC and foreign tourists to the history and archeology of Jordan. Arabiyat praised the activities undertaken by Qatar Museums Authority, led by HE Chairperson of QMA Board of Trustees Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, and hailed QMA’s exhibitions that deal with different cultures and civilizations. In a press statement during a meeting with a media delegation from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), he said Qatar attracted many expatriates from Arab and non-Arab countries, saying this gives an opportunity for collaboration to showcase Jordanian monuments in Doha, especially as Qatar is one of the countries that attaches importance to antiquities and has recently succeeded in registering Al Zubarah Archaeological Site in World Heritage List. Arabiyat pointed out that the Jordan’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities had organized a six-month exhibition in London, and is willing to coordinate with the Jordan National Museum and QMA for holding a similar exhibition
